Uttarakhand khasra and khatauni, with the map

उत्तराखंड खसरा खतौनी, नक्शे के साथ

A khatauni tells you who holds a khata and which khasras are in it. It does not show where those khasras are on the ground. BhuView puts each village's khasra map on live satellite imagery, so you can find a khasra on the land itself, and see its khata and khatauni where the public records have it.

Khasra, khata and khatauni

Khasra (खसरा)
One plot on the village map, with its own number.
Khata (खाता)
An account: all the khasras held by the same people.
Khatauni (खतौनी)
The record of a khata: its khasras, areas, land class and holders, for a fasli year.

How to see a khasra and its khatauni

  1. Find your village: by Kumaon or Garhwal, then district, tehsil and village, or search it on the map.
  2. Open its khasra map. The khasras are drawn on the satellite image, each with its number.
  3. Tap your khasra (or search its number) to see its area in square metres and in Nali and Mutthi.
  4. Open its details for the khata number and khatauni, where the public records have it.
  5. To check a plot that spans several khasras, use Check my plot and mark its corners.

Questions

What is a khatauni?
A khatauni is the record of rights for land: for each khata (account) it lists the khasras in it, their area and land class, and the people who hold it with their shares, for a fasli year. In Uttarakhand it is kept village by village.
What is the difference between khasra and khata?
A khasra (or gata) is one plot on the village map, with its own number. A khata is an account that groups all the khasras held by the same people. One khata can have many khasras, and one khasra can be shared between more than one khata.
How do I see the khatauni of a khasra on BhuView?
Open your village's khasra map, tap the khasra on the satellite image (or search its number), and open its details. Where the public land records have it, BhuView shows the khata number and the khatauni details for that khasra.
How do I find my khasra number if I only know where my land is?
Open the map, go to your land on the satellite image and tap it: BhuView shows the khasra number there. Or use Check my plot, mark the corners of your plot, and see every khasra it falls in and how much of the plot is in each.

Is this an official khatauni?
No. BhuView shows publicly available records next to the map so they are easier to understand. Everything shown is indicative, for general knowledge only, and must not be used for any official or legal purpose. For an official copy, ask your tehsil.
